=) Here it is http://desmendoza.wordpress.com
Tonight is the last night I'm spending it at my studio unit. I rented a 2 bedroom unit on the same floor about a few doors away. It is big since I have a lot of things coming up this 2008 ;) and I can't help but feel sentimental. All 24 sqm of these walls had been a witness to a lot of good and bad things that transpired in the last two years of my life. This room has seen both love and hate.
You see, I didn't really plan on moving out. I was studying and I had a full time job two years ago. The four hour daily travel was killing me. My good friend John first moved in the fifth floor and I got my unit on the 11th floor. I remember many nights when we'd go out to parties. There was this one night we were both tipsy and I got off the elevator when it reached fifth floor and John said "Bye....nite...oh wait, this is my floor."
Living on my own was one of the best decisions I've made in my life. I learned to be independent and resilient. Back at my parent's house I was a senyorita. There would be household help who would cook, clean the house and do the laundry. There were also my brothers who I relied on for technical stuff. When you live on your own you have to do everything. I also cried a lot many nights when I'm feeling very low. It was difficult when there's nobody to hug you and tell you everything will be alright like mom does. Those days I've felt alone I hung on to dear God for strength. But it's always good to know that my family is just about two hours away. I longed for weekends when I get to go home.

I had a great Christmas day this year. We went thru the same routine of going home to Batangas to spend holidays with relatives. The best part was the food and running around an huge and empty baseball field overlooking Tagaytay with a beautiful sunset to boot. It felt great to be a kid again.
This will be my last post for the year 2007. I wish all of you a prosperous new year full of love. :)
Oddest track in my workout music.
I love it though, makes me smile when I hear it. Feel good song. And yes after ten thousand years I returned to the gym. Hay, I really need to make the gym thing permanent kasi I had an ultimatum from father dear because I'm not getting any exercise at all. My father is 63 years old, he plays tennis a lot. He could still beat 20- somethings in this sport, well siguro hindi naman Roger Federer level yun nakakalaban nya.
Overheard over the weekend from Alyssa Alano on Startalk as contributed by J. The starlet admits to having a boob job, she was explaining her view to co-host Lorna Tolentino.
Alyssa Alano: Alam mo naman kasi showbiz, kailangan talaga. Kasi di ba may kasabihan ngang "No Fame. No Game".
LT: Ah..baka no pain, no gain.
AA: Yun nga.
---
This was overheard during the height of Alyssa Alano's Kiss Me video, contributed by Paul. A makeup artist was exchanging stories with Alyssa Alano:
Makeup Artist: So I heard lumabas ka rin daw last week sa Startalk and The Buzz. Startalk ba o The Buzz or did you do both?
AA: (Puzzled) Nag-guest ako sa Stalktalk, tsaka sa The Buzz din...pero walang Boat. Wala, walang boat na show.

"Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go." -- T. S. Eliot
The Design People, Manila's Halloween Happy Hour was a major hit! I came in as a 80's Gym Instructor. The choice was a between a nurse (hehe.) or this. My 80's heart fortunately won over. Everybody was laughing at my costume, and that was my original intention. We went to Megamall and had lunch and I had a few stares from people.

@ KFC
Me: Miss, Hot and...*pause* . Miss, ba't ka tumatawa? What's so funny.
Cashier: Yes mam. *still giggling*
===
@ Escalator
There was this manong who kept staring and propably perplexed why on earth I'm wearing an oudated outtfit:
Me: *shout* Hey, manong! C'mon , let's do some exercise, and (*lifts arms*) a one, two...three and a four!
That apparently stopped him from staring. Haha. I love to see people's reaction when you put them on th spot.

And best of all, I had my picture taken @ the Slimmer's World booth:
Instructor: Ah, so maam, mag-woworkout na po kayo ngayon?
Me: Uhm. Actually, this is just a costume.

Here are my favorite costumes from the other people in the office:
Noe as Mafia member - She won the Best Costume award. She was wearing fishnet stockings with short skirts. The boys drooled.
It's probably the nth time I restored my iPod. There's nothing wrong with it. I'm just really OC when it comes to tagging my music. Each song should be properly tagged with the correct album cover, genre, play list etc.
I spent the whole afternoon tagging my brother's music which some of it I synched in my iPod. MediaMonkey is an excellent tool for tagging music, you can search for album covers in Amazon.com databases worldwide. Ran a few difficulty looking for OPM covers but at the same time I had a good laugh and a bit of nostalgia looking thru the album covers of OPM music in the 70', 80's and early 90's:
Geneva - This was the time when she was endorsing Gift Gate. Look at the towering ponytail, Kerokeroppi, Swatch and gigantic mobile phones.
Francis M - YO! Love the cover, it still looks classic. It captures the era when rap was still being introduced to the Pinoy masa.
Bagets - Need I say more? The font, the color, the clothes, Aga Mulhac and his dimples, Raymund Lauchengco wearing hot pink and yellow with white high waisted pants...it's very...London Olympics 2012 logo. In the 80's it was cool for men to wear white pants, these days you're either gay or Tony Ferrer if you do.
Basil - I'm so thankful that my papa was in the military so he always had the classic military haircut and its many variations. He didn't have any picture with this kind of 70's hair - Farah Fawcett for men, which I assume, most of your dad's have. Haha.
I couldn't find an album cover for Francis M's Freeman album and the search brought me to a link of the music video Kaleidoscope World, which is another favorite song of mine.
According to Francis his idea for the video was he wanted to get all his family in the video. Thus, you see a movie clip which featured his parents, movie screen legends Pancho Magalona and Tita Duran. The rest of the video was shot with his friends and kids running around. Ang liit pa ni Maxene, lol. The whole thing seemed genuine. There's not too many local music videos that I like but this one I won't get tired of watching.
Although the first few guitar riffs in the intro somehow reminds me intro of the Beatles song, Here, There & Everywhere.
There is also a butchered version by the Philippine Idol finalists.
Presenting the new WACOM logo:
Brought to you by the same people who created the controversial London Olympics 2012 logo.
I could forgive the Olympics Logo because "maybe" they we're channeling a punk look. But the new Wacom logo is hideous. I'm sorry, it just ugly. You look at it and the first thing that would pop in your mind is..."Why?". Looked like somebody decided to have fun with the default gradient settings in Photoshop.
Do they make their logos intentionally ugly for free publicity.
Also, I would never. NEVER, trust a branding company that has a website like this. Awful taste in choice of images.
